[Subject to the Harden s&t going through smoothly, but I do not anticipate any trouble there.]
[Also subject to somebody casually pointing out that I accidentally signed Bradley Beal to thee teams, which makes 42 dominoes explode in my face and I must then start everything from scratch.]
We're back, baby! I love the smell of a signed qualifying offer in the morning
Yet most aging superstars are feeling quite angry today.
Trust me, their agent huffed and puffed, screamed and shouted and stormed out of many meetings.
But it's a fact: our GM's are more fiscally responsible than the ones IRL.
(OK, we don't have to fill arenas or sell jerseys, and we still haven't found a way to simulate players demanding trades, but still.)
For this, you all deserve a big round of applause from a proud commish, and a middle finger from that nasty agent. Do cherish both
I'll try to stay realistic.
IRL the trend seems to be 90% deals done and dusted on July 6, so I'm going all the way down to mere 7 digits today.
FOFA will now proceed somewhat spontaneously whenever I hear big offers, and more organically for anything well above the MPE for the next 2-3 days.
As a rule of thumb:
July 6 - all the stars + MLE
July 9 - partial MLE / BAE
July 12 - MPElooza
July 15 - Twowaypalooza
July 18 - vacation, offline for 8 days.
Lillard LBR 42,644,951 in year 1 because as disrespected as he might feel, he wants a ring for the city and thus will allow the team the entire MLE under what the owner is allegedly willing to spend.
Then a slightest of bumps in year 2 to match the exact year 2 salary in a competitor's offer, then sharp 8% decreases for 2 more years
(beats cap space 42,300,000 in year 1, and 5% raise year 2 and 36/37/37/38 volunteered by before instructing me to just beat whatever is out there)
Desmond Bane LBR 5y max 8% raises starting at 35,147,000 delayed until something else potentially gets cooked up
(Beats 4y max)
Dejounte Murray LBR 42,176,400 but only 5% raises and only 4 years delayed until something else potentially gets cooked up
(Beats cap space 4 years starting at 40,800,000, with 5% raises)
resign Russell LBR 2/35.8m & Cissoko 1y 2-way
They then renounce Barnes and Middleton, lose all exceptions, and thus create cap space for Paul George ~4/159.1m

12.8m MLE (semi-orphan)
12.8m MLE (semi-orphan)
12.8m MLE (no reply to PM's/emails begging for urgency, so we know what probably happens next)
On semi-orphans I usually prefer two excellent 6m contracts than one iffy 12m, at which point we're even ready to momentarily dip under the MLE:
MLE Naji Marshall 4/44 incl. TO
