Thunder- A Storm Brews
Hello NBAFO fans, this is GM Maurice writing to you today in regards to the present and future of the Thunder. I am very excited to take over a team that has the talent caliber of Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard. The team I have taken the reins on has all the talent in the world but money is/was tight. We are under pressure to win now with both of our superstars aging.. Slowly but we all know father time has beaten everyone. We have already made strides in solidifying our longevity and our ability to put win now talent around our two stars.
Now with how small our roster size was our franchise needed to move one of our 3 bigger name players. We decided we could not keep the immense talent of Dejounte Murray. Dejounte was sitting on a one year deal, looking down a 100+ million dollar contract and with KD/Dame being over %60 of the cap for the next several years. We traded Dejounte to the Clippers in return for multiple picks and some outstanding talent.
FULL TRADE DETAILS:
Receives:
Christian Braun: $2,609,460—28.65 Fantasy Points Per Game
Santi Aldama: $2,391,058— 53.82 Fantasy Points Per Game
Mitchell Robinson: $14,700,000— 76.6 Fantasy Points Per Game
'24 1st
'26 2nd
Receives:
Dejounte Murray: $18,000,000— 87.23 Fantasy Points Per Game
We welcome Aldama, Braun, and Robinson to the franchise and can’t wait to see you all in action in our jerseys.. You guys have never looked or played as well until now. ;-)
After this major trade we had a need to get some young talent that can fit and hopefully compete alongside our current players. We did just that. With our second round picks we drafted Jalen Pickett and Jalen Wilson, both players we believe can make an immediate impact on the culture of our team.
We ended up this year with a lottery selection and a very late 1st. We selected Jaime Jaquez Jr and Kobe Brown.

Both of these young men will have the shot to force their way into the lineup.
Looking ahead into the off-season were are very excited about the potential FA class that may come into our building. We are very hopeful with some of the conversations with players, agents, families that we are going to get some very talented men to play on this team. It is quite obvious that we are lacking in some PG depth behind Dame, we look to address this before the end of major FA. With the near future looking as bright as any team we are going todo everything in our power to improve and build a winning culture we can be proud of.
We cannot wait for this season to begin but work must be done behind the scenes. We are excited to unveil what we have in store. A storm is brewing… it can only brew for so long before something huge happens.
