Last season I traded #49. I did it for a 2025 2nd. I tried to get more but with only one buyer there was no budging. I had no roster space and was happy to make a deal.If we remove who the pick was from the equation, I think overpaid for the pick. I doubt phone was blowing up over #47. So my gut is that likely could have done a little better.
Only knows if there was competition for the pick driving up value.
In regards to pick #47:
After trading for #47 pick I did not shop the pick at all.
Portland came to me last minute asking if I'm interested in trading the pick.
I did not propose a single offer to him. Instead I let him propose an offer.
He sent me that offer in which I agreed and asked him to make the post.
That's all accurate. Saw someone I liked still on the board and a place to take him. Would have traded 2026 second straight up but I don't own it any longer and I wasn't going to trade a 2025 second for it. You don't have to think it was a good deal and I certainly understand the criticism, just wanted to show I had cognitive thoughts about it. You're talking about almost 100% uncertainty.
Last year pick #45 was Andre Jackson Jr, Pick #32 was James Nnaji, #33 was Vukcevic. Jackson is certainly the more appealing asset one year later. Won't disagree with anyone who thinks it's a reach - just thought swapping a lottery ticket now for two lottery tickets later was worth the gamble.
Played plenty of contract/CBA leagues before, been the guy who took the sure thing fantasy basketball star Andrew Wiggins in the first and human highlight reel Bruno Caboclo in the second and watch someone take Embiid in the first and Jokic in the second.
Let me have some excitement in my life.
