You are entitled to your opinion, yet i disagree. At the time the offer was made to Klay, I had no intention of doing a S&T. The real star of the franchise was Siakam, yet it seemed highly unlikely that I would be able to keep him next season, due to salaries being paid. The only way to keep Siakam would be to lose either Adams, Conley, or Thompson. Losing either 1 of those 3 would probably see the team fall from serious contender to middle of the pack. Faced with the choice of 1 great season followed by years of struggle, or a year of struggle followed by potentially rising to the top for several years, I chose the latter course.
To say that you have been wasting vast amounts of free time every single day is a bit of an exaggeration. The issue with room MLE took all of 5 minutes to explain. There has been only 1 trade where salaries weren't matched, and that was an offer made to me--again it took 5 minutes to explain, and I'd bet big dollars that it's not the only trade to be made invalid. 5 years maybe a year too long for Conley, but he is still a highly productive player, and will be for several more years--of course that is an opinion that can only be judged on in hindsight.
Finally, you say that I "fail to grasp that Klay rejecting the snt doesn't really change a thing"--this is justifiable misunderstanding, as earlier in this thread you state, "There is no trade, Klay is an UNRESTRICTED free agent and can choose his own path."
I apologise for my inflammatory comments toward you earlier in this thread--I obviously hsd midunderstood your comments, as you had also misunderstood my motives.
